According to the manual it has chipset North Bridge Intel G31 and South Bridge Intel ICH7, memory support up to 4GB Max. The motherboard I have with this processor is MSI G31M3 V2. What about the chipset? Since I have a 64-bit processor, does it mean I must have the right chipset for 64-bit as well? Or it could still be a chipset for 32-bit? I just want to make sure that my computer is capable of 64-bit before I get a 64-bit operating system. I have had a quick look at the BIOS I couldn't see anything that would indicate it is 64-bit capable. I thank you for your help.Īccording to their Legal Disclaimers at the bottom of the page, apart from the operating system, device drivers and applications enabled for Intel EM64T the processor will not operate including 32-bit operation without an Intel EM64T-enabled BIOS so I presume I must have such BIOS though I have only 32-bit operating systems installed.
